Drawbacks 1. Most users of illegally installed or downloaded software is target to serious quality problems and viruses. They often face absence of basic or secondary features and options of the programs and have to confront several other problems caused by inappropriate installation. 2. Users of Pirated software are not entitled to support of any kind , including upgrades , service patches and security problems caused while using the product. 3. Software piracy is one of the most terrifying problems for software developers. It leads to a great waste of profit by the company. A challenge developer's face does not know when it happens, or how much it's costing them. 4. The right of property is immediately erased when talking about this kind of piracy. 5. We have minus employees sheets. 6. The fact that less profit for the companies means less tax revenue for a country’s economy. 7. Software piracy removes the right of the producer who legally holds all the rights to himself. 8. Developers cannot control the sales of the product, which means cannot be aware of the exact copies a product sold and they can publish any statistics about those sales. 9. Developers are not able to know which part of people mostly use the products and to what extent those products are being illegally copied. 10. Software piracy is claimed to be one of the most expensive and intimidating phenomenon of our times for developers. Types Softlifting: purchasing a single licensed copy of software and loading it onto several computers contrary to the license terms. For example, sharing software with friends, co-workers and others. Uploading and downloading: making unauthorized copies of copyrighted software available to end users connected by modem to online service providers and/or the Internet.
