Hello
...a report about many deaths, of many people of a range of ages. The odd thing is that they all lived in the same small town in America. The investigations start at a chicken factory where the last victim worked, but while they were there the two Agents remarkable evidence and return visits to the factory uncover the mystery with close encounters for both agents, but mainly Agent Scully when she meets an ancient ritual involving cannibalism! Likes / Dislikes I liked this book because it got straight into the action and got the reader guessing from the first few paragraphs. It started off well and just got better. It was hard to put down once you had read a chapter because you just wanted to know what happened next. You really got a feel for how scared the readers were. It gave you a good insight to the character's history and personality. I disliked the fact that it was very short, at just over 150 words. I just wanted to read on a find out what happened to the characters, but then I found out that there was no follow up. Following this news I decided to read another X-files book as I was pretty disappointed, because I would not know what would happen after the cliff-hanger I was left at. I think that although I had a fairly good idea of the characters appearances, I could have know a lot more. There was not enough description. Rating I give this book **** Author: James Riordan Title: "When the Guns Fall Silent" Reviewer: Edward Snaith Date: 9/10/02 Summary of the book: The main character is Jack as a young boy. Jack and his grandson, Perry are standing amidst the war graves of Ypres when they see an old German man and his granddaughter. Jack recognises the face and it's suddenly 1914 and he is back in the trenches as a young lad. Visions of killing, misery and the terrible conditions come back to him, until on Christmas day it all changed just for one day, and on the frozen ground of No- Man's Land a game of football was started. I think this is an excellent book, with a great insight into the First World War. With amazing imagery and action, surely this is the book for everyone! The only dislike I have is that it, like any book, is a bit confusing in the beginning. I definitely recommend this book: ***** Author: Terry Pratchett Title: Only You Can Save Mankind Reviewer: Jack Harding Form: 2P Date: 09 / 10 / 02 Summary Johnny is an ordinary boy who has just got a new game called Only You Can Save Mankind.
