People should not abandon their ways of life. I think cultures show a great deal of respect towards others. Like many cultures around the world, it is important for everybody to respect one another. For example, it is customary for young Filipinos to ask an adult Filipinos' hand to touch their forehead as a sign of blessing. In a Canada, people hug and kiss one another as a sign of respect and gratitude. Canadians also use "please" and "thank you" as a sign of politeness. Just like Filipinos, we use the words "po" and "opo" as a sign of respect towards somebody who is older than we are. We may come form different backgrounds, but it does not mean we are not alike. Religion plays a huge role in people's variety of cultures. Religious beliefs always tie with the way people live and their lifestyles. In the Philippines, there is only one main religion: Catholic. There are also Protestants, Buddhists, and Muslims in some parts of the Philippines. Most of the Filipinos in Canada are Catholics.
