Types of Diets
...nd high fiber vegetables (Stewart 84). This diet is intended to provide the dieter with the type of foods that are not artificially processed and are most natural to the body ( Stewart 77). Sugar Busters is based on a thirty percent protein intake, forty percent fat intake, and a thirty percent carbohydrate intake. Thus, thirty percent of the food the dieter eats each day must be protein like meats and eggs. The other forty percent of the their food intake must come from foods high in fat like nuts and beans. And the other thirty percent of their food must come from carbohydrates like breads and cereals (Stewart 78). The second diet is the Picture Perfect Weight Loss Plan. This diet consist of three essential principles and a four-week plan to accomplish the diete’rs goals. The first principle is that calorie reduction is the key to weight loss. The goal of The Picture Perfect Weight Loss Plan is to make the dieter feel comfortable choosing low calorie foods instead of the higher calorie foods. In the second week, the dieter is encouraged to concentrate on lunch and snacks, and find their emotional connection with food (Shapiro 115). The third week, the dieter is supposed to find a regular activity that can be preformed two or three times a week, and make wiser choices for their dinner meal (Shapiro 200). In the forth week, the dieter is encouraged to eat out. He or she must follow the exercise program they have decided on during this last week (Shapiro 240). The third type of diet is the Atkins diet which requires the dieter to control the amount of carbohydrates he or she eats. The Atkins diets effectiveness depends on age, gender, metabolism, and activity level (Atkins 4). It consist of four phases for the dieter to reach his or her ultimate weight loss goal. In the firs...
