MY TRIP
...re out what to do. We totaled 15 people going on this cruise. We concluded that we would catch a plane. I started to scream loudly in my head, “NO, THERE HAS TO BE ANOTHER WAY! But in reality, a plane was the only way.” I have always been afraid of flying, and I never thought I would actually have to get on one. However, I turned in my first train ticket to Florida, bought a one-way bus ticket to Baltimore and a one-way plane ticket leaving from Baltimore to Florida for Sunday. Unfortunately, due to the cancellation of trains, lots of people were flying and a plane ticket was hard to get on such short notice. On Sunday evening I was sitting in the airport with my mom, sisters and cousins. I was sweating bullets waiting for my flight to be called. As the airline called our flight, I reached down to grab my daughters hand and said a short prayer as we boarded the plane. I was upset that my daughter’s and my seat’s were in the last row in the back of the plane. I’m glad it was dark outside, so I couldn’t see how high we were from land, but I would have loved to see the beautiful clouds up close. The plane experienced lots of turbulence; I kept my seatbelt on the whole time, and my ears hurt from the popping. I was scared to get up and go to the bathroom. Most of my family members were scattered in different seats. When we finally touched down in Florida, I became at ease that we made it. We got hotel rooms and stayed overnight because the ship was leaving on Monday afternoon. The day for our family cruise had finally arrived, and sailed the open seas to Cozumel and Grand Caymon islands in Mexico. I ate lots of food, danced, and partied.
