Religion Good or Bad?
...on develop from if not from religion? If they say society or common sense, then they must explain to me where these things developed from. Who told them that nudity was indecent, or that stealing was wrong? Why are these things wrong? Do they really think that religion had no influence on these norms or laws? If religion did have an influence, and they don’t believe these religions to have substance, why don’t they fight against these things as well? Sex Since the debate began about the separation of Church and State, I believe that we have seen a decline in the moral decency of our society. The media is a perfect example of how the norms of our society have changed. At one time, comedy was slapstick and clean, now it is being expressed more as “adult entertainment” with graphic and many times degrading jests regarding sexuality. There was also a time when teachers were allowed to discipline students, occasionally using a ruler. It was at this time that students behaved in class, they didn’t talk out of turn, or whisper throughout class to their friends. Where has the respect and discipline gone? Why is it now gone? Marriage What about marriage? Christianity says that marriage is a promise between two people and God, a union that is to last forever.
