Martin Luther King Jr. was born on January 15, 1929, at the family home, 501 Auburn Avenue, Atlanta. Martin Luther King Jr. was the first son and second child born to Reverend Martin Luther King Sr. and Alberta Williams King. Martin Luther King Jr. was always involved with his family, his church, and Christian leadership. He also did activities for peace and justice. And in his spare time, he wrote 6 books, and many articles. But with all that success, there were many people against him. Dr. Martin Luther King was assassinated while standing on the balcony of the Lorraine Motel in Memphis Tennessee, on April 4,1968. That was a horrible day, in the history of the United States.
