Whether Canada should increase military funding
...e defense spending by $1.2-billion a year immediately for new equipment. Will raise the Canadian Forces strength from 55,000 to 80,000 troops. Will increase Parliament's involvement in defense policy and equipment purchases. The New Democrats will improve pay, benefits and living conditions for members of the Canadian Forces, including better housing on military bases.
