Ramona asked her mother why Beezus was in that kind of mood all the time, and she answered that it was because she was going through a very difficult stage in her life, that was adolescence. At last, their father was home from work. He brought them gummy- bears, but Ramona noticed that his father was sadder that usual, but didn’t think that it was so important, as she was happy with her sweets. Beezus and her went to Beezu’s room to split up their gummy- bears. When they were finished and were ready to eat them, the sisters realized that their parents weren’t talking any longer, and they knew that meant troubles. They went downstairs and pretended that nothing had happened. Ramona started to put the table mats in the table, as she knew that they were not going to go out to eat. Her mother announced them that their father had lost his job. Ramona didn’t know very well what that meant, but she knew that it was a very serious problem. Beezus knew better, and offered that she could baby sit, as now they weren’t going to have enough money. Ramona felt left out, as there was a problem, and she couldn’t do anything to help. She decided that her Christmas list was out of place, so she crossed out all the possible presents that she wanted to get, and instead of all of them, she wanted a happy family, and drew four happy faces, and a one that belonged to a cat, that was their pet.
