...fashion design and basketball, were both things that he was very passionate and motivated about. Kevin has shown that you can be successful in all aspects of your life. Most people know him as a successful basketball player, but not many people know about his love for fashion design and how he took that love and put it to action. Kevin grew up in Detroit Michigan, where his mom was a seamstress and his dad a civil engineer. Kevin said that their work ethic was instilled in him at early age, and gives them both credit as to where he has gotten today. Kevin said that they always provided for him as best as they could, and that was something that he has always remembered. Kevin said that he feels very blessed that is he able to provide for them now, because he knows without the values that they instilled in him, he would not be in the position that he is currently in. He said that he views success as putting your mind to something and giving it 110%. Kevin could have easily given up on his dream of being a fashion designer, he had a great career in basketball and not a lot of time, but this was something that he loved and wanted to succeed in doing. He admitted that it was not easy trying to juggle both, but the rewards have far outweighed the trouble that he dealt with in the beginning. Kevin feels that the three things that have made him the most successful are being consistent, having passion for something you love, and to never give up, no matter what gets thrown at you. Kevin has worked with his younger brother and they are in the process of opening a 125-acre facility for disadvantaged children that will open in the summer of 2005. He and his brother Robert are very involved with the Atlanta Children’s Village and are hoping to partner with other facilities that help disadvantaged children in other NBA cities to help start up similar villages for children that live there.
